Fluet, 80 MILFORD - Ruth M. "Ruthie" Fluet, 80, of Milford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 24, 2015, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. She was under the care of Delaware Hospice at the time of her passing. Born in Port Washington, N.Y. on October 17, 1934, Ruth was the daughter of the late William and Juanita Taylor. She graduated from Great Neck High School, N.Y. and, in October of 1955, married her beloved husband and best friend, Joseph A. Fluet. They started their journey together on the west coast at Williams AFB in Chandler, Ariz. and would have been celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this October. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was cherished by all who knew her for her grace, warm heart, thoughtfulness and compassion for animals. She enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, reading, and loved spending time at the beach each summer with family and visiting with her sisters and their families on the west and east coasts. Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Self of California. She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Fluet of Milford; her sister, June Hulse of Florida; her two daughters, Lisa Lewis of Camden and Cheryl, married to Don Griffith, of North East, Md.; one granddaughter, Carley, married to John Rose, of Middletown; and her two great grand pups, France' and Rodney. A private memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Please consider a donation to the Milford Public Library, 11 SE Front Street, Milford, DE 19963 or to the Delaware Humane Association via their website: dehumane.org.
