BEAR - Ruth Bowers left this earthly home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2013. The daughter of Frank and Sarah Breeding, Ruth was born on April 16, 1925 in Greensboro, Md to a family of eight and is the last of her siblings to pass. Faithful to the Lord her whole life, she loved gardening, painting, feeding those she loved and her family to whom she was deeply devoted. Ruth is survived by her loving husband, William Bowers, to whom she was married for almost 70 years; and her three children and their spouses, Robert Bowers and his wife Lynn, Michael Bowers and his wife Mary Ann, and Patricia Bowers and her husband Jim Boone; grandmother to Joshua Bowers and his wife Naomi, Jennifer Speir and her husband Randall, and Annie, Luke and Sarah Bowers. Ruth is remembered for sewing prom dresses, saving quarters for college, giving back rubs when you didn't feel well and always having cookies on hand. She was also the very proud great-grandmother of Alivia and Emma Bowers (daughters of Joshua and Naomi Bowers), and Jackson Speir (son of Jennifer and Randall Speir). A graveside ceremony will be held at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Bear, Delaware at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013. Ruth's nephew Blake Bowers will perform the service. All who loved Ruth and would like to pay their respects are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford, DE, where her husband William Bowers resides (100 Delaware Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963).
