MILFORD - REVISED FUNERAL DATE: Russell W. Davis, age 94, of Milford passed away peacefully on June 1, 2015 at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. He was born on March 30, 1921 in Milford; he was the son of the late Roland J. Davis and Mabel (Bennett) Davis. He served his country in the Army Air Corp. during WWII in England, France and Belgium. He was a Sunday school teacher and longtime member of the Milford Church of God. He worked in the truck parts dept. at Brown Thawley and later for i.g. Burton for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Hall) Davis; and second wife, Phyllis (Morgan) Davis; his sister, Louise Webb; and brothers, George Davis, Richard Davis and Robert Davis. He is survived by his brother, Gordon P. Davis; sister, Marian E. VanVorst; two nephews and six nieces. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call one hour before. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions are made to: Milford Church of God, 500 N. Walnut St., Milford, DE 19963 in his memory.
