Roy Elwood Laughman, 54

MAGNOLIA - Roy Elwood Laughman, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, in Kent General Hospital. He was 54. He was born on Nov. 16, 1954 in Gettysburg, Pa. Roy served his country proudly in the United States Army during Vietnam. He had worked as a laborer. Roy was an avid Redskins fan and enjoyed hunting. He was well known as "just a good ole boy". He is preceded in death by a brother, Tom Eller. Roy is survived by his wife, Kathleen (McLaughlin) Laughman; three daughters, Jaime Rabin and her husband Paul, of Newark, Nora Laughman and her fiancé Dennis Petrucci, of Magnolia, and Randi Lee and her husband Michael, of Harrington; a son, Daniel Laughman and his fiancé Nicole Silbereisen, of Harrington; his mother, Ruby (Eller) Heller, of Aspers, Pa.; a sister, Pat Baker and her husband Doug, of Spring Grove, Pa.; two grandchildren, Giovanni Petrucci and Madison Laughman; a niece, Rhonda; a nephew, Greg; a variety of family members in Pennsylvania; a special young lady, Aleisha Broughton and a special young man, Ernie Kohland, fondly known as Hot Rod whom he considered as his son and daughter; very special friends, Ron and Barb King and their children Jimmy, Martha and Tyler; and a very special friend, Patrice Williams. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home to help with expenses. Letters of condolences may be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
