Roundup: Camden-Wyoming falls in Senior League baseball regional

Camden-Wyoming’s stay in the Senior League baseball East Regional came to an end on Friday night.

The Delaware state champions fell to Willow Grove, Pa., 6-0, in an elimination game in the eight-team tournament being played in Bangor, ME.

Camden-Wyoming lost to Rhode Island, 6-3, in their opener on Thursday.

In three all-star tourneys, Camden-Wyoming finished with a record of 7-4.

Softball

Junior League

Lower Sussex 14, Maryland 2: The Delaware state champions picked up their first win in the East Regional in Orange, Conn. on Friday.

Lower Sussex is now 1-2 with three games remaining in the pool-play part of the tournament. The Franford-based squad is slated to face Rhode Island today at 8:30 a.m.

On Thursday, Lower Sussex lost to Pennsylvania, 9-0, and then, 10-8, to Massachusetts.

Maryland, from Easton, is 0-2.

College rowing

UD team to join MAC: The Uniuversity of Delaware women’s rowing team will begin competing in the Mid-American Conference in 2025.

The MAC will begin the 2025-26 school year with six programs competing in women’s rowing as Eastern Michigan, Toledo and UMass will be joined by new affiliate members Delaware, High Point and Temple.

The Blue Hens will continue to compete in the Coastal Athletic Assocation in the upcoming year.
