ELLENDALE - Rosie L. Blendt was born July 26, 1917 and died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Harrison House of Georgetown. She was the daughter of the late George and Laura (Nabb) Darrell. In addition to her parents, Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, Norman K. Blendt. She was a hard working wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for 49 years as a waitress at Wayside Inn, in Smyrna making many friends among her customers and co-workers. Rosie loved working in the garden and was known for her beautiful flower arrangements. She crocheted, was a watcher of game show TV, and loved country music, especially Ernie Tubb. Rosie was a faithful member of Lincoln U.M. Church. She is survived by a son, Ernest Blendt; a daughter, Norma Wilson; a sister, Maud Willim, of Dover; four grandchildren, Sherrie Jarman, Candy and Rob Reiss, Kellie and Donald Goldsborough, Sharon and Bryan Campbell; 26 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. We would like to thank all her caregivers, especially, Barbara Hammond, her niece, Betty Lockwood, and her friend Betty Harris for their loving care and kindness; and her special granddaughter, Laurie, who took special care also. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lincoln U.M. Church, 2nd and Butler Streets, Lincoln, Del. Burial was held privately at Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, De 19963 or Lincoln U.M. Church, PO Box 65, Lincoln, De 19960.
