Simpson, 87 DOVER - Rosemary C. Simpson, 87, of Dover passed away on April 27, 2015. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Rosemary married the love of her life, Bill Simpson, in 1948. The couple made their way to Delaware in the mid-1950's where they settled to raise their family and pursue their dreams. Rosemary will be remembered in Delaware as the Founder and Director of lower Delaware's first Montessori School (Dover Montessori Country Day School). Dover Montessori opened its doors over 40 years ago. During this time it has enriched the lives of hundreds of young "absorbent minds" and produced some of Delaware's finest professionals, artists and teachers. Rosemary also loved singing in the church choir, playing bridge or golf with Bill and their many friends, and of course, spending time with her extended family both in Delaware and in Arizona. She is survived by her adoring husband of 66 years, William M. Simpson; her five children, William D. Simpson and his wife Karen of Dover, Paula Fabian Leach and her husband Gene of Scottsdale, Arizona, Margaret Ann Kling and her husband Don of Dover, Rosemary Aslin and her husband Richard of Dover and Adam E. Simpson and his wife Susan of Dover; her nine grandchildren and her five great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m., Saturday afternoon, May 2, 2015 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. Burial will be private. The family will begin receiving friends from 3:30 p.m. until service time, Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
