DOVER - Rosa Cervantes passed away February 7, 2022 at Bayhealth Medical Cntr, Dover. Born in Hato Viejo, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Fidelio Sanchez and Lela Paulino Sanchez.
She moved to Philadelphia in 1961 and met the love of her life Julian Cervantes. Rosa and Julian married in 1963 and made Dover their home for the past 57 years.
She retired from Playtex after being a dedicated employee for over 20 years.
Rosa enjoyed dancing, cooking, attending Standard Bred Horse racing at Dover Downs and Harrington Raceways, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Julian of 58 years; her son, Pedro Sanchez (Cristina) of Dover; three grandchildren, Kevin Sanchez (Yaneiry of Woodbridge, Va., Kristopher Sanchez of Dover, Del., Christine Harmon (Duron) of Atlanta, Ga.; five great grandchildren, Christopher, Jaiden, Dallas, Captain, and Cobe; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, 11 a.m. at The Church of The Holy Cross, 631 S. State St., Dover. Visitation will be held 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
