Ronnie B. Allen, 64
Ronnie B. Allen of Dover passed away, Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Kent General Hospital.
Ronnie was born May 31, 1959 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to the late Billy Allen and Clara Ruby Boyd Allen.
He served in the United States Air Force retiring as a MSgt. after 21 years. After his military career he worked as a civil servant in air transportation for 15 years, fully retiring in 2015. Ronnie volunteered for Meals on Wheels for 5 years and was active with Gar-Field High School, VA and Wreaths Across America. His passions in life included his love of country, love of family and friends, his pets and model railroading. He was also an avid life-long Redskins fan.
He had a huge personality. He never met anyone he didn't call a friend. He always had a joke and a smile; even when he was in pain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Karen Rauheisen.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Terri Hubbard Allen of Dover; sons R.D. Allen, his partner Tesla Melvin of Dover, Michael Allen of Wilmington; daughter, Erica Allen and her husband Colin Worrall of Baltimore, MD. Three grandsons Owen, Evan, and Carsen, also his sister Sharon and her husband Richard Grantz of Spotsylvania, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2023, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 10-12. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to USO Delaware, Meals on Wheels Delaware or Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue of Dover, DE.
Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
