Ronald Richard Nickerson

Ronald Richard Nickerson, 65 CAMDEN-WYOMING - Ronald Richard Nickerson, 65, of Camden-Wyoming, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was born on Oct. 2, 1944, in Portland, Maine. Ronald served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force while stationed in Turkey. He worked as a foreman in plastic manufacturing for 30 years retiring in 2006. Afterwards he worked two years for the State Police Headquarters in Dover for electronic installation to their fleet. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and playing cards. He also was a sports enthusiast. Ronald was a former member of Odd Fellows. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sarah Christina Nickerson; his parents, Fenton and Jeanette Nickerson of Sydney, Maine; two daughters, Amy Fitzgerald and her husband Ronnie Jr. of Greenwood, Leigh Ann Maddox and her husband Daniel of Coatesville, Pa.; grandchildren, Alyssa, Dylan, Brooke and Blaine; four sisters, Jean Ladd of Sydney, Maine, Judy Bourget of Augusta, Maine, Christine Snide of Sydney, Maine, and Donna Brown of Salem, N.H.; and numerous nieces, nephews and an extended family of friends. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
