Ronald Lee Reed, 69
CAMDEN - Ronald Lee Reed of Camden died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 69.
Mr. Reed was born Aug. 12, 1937 in Dover, son of the late Robert and Mabel Reed.
He was a proud veteran serving as a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years.
After retiring from the military, Mr. Reed worked for Scott Paper, Dover, for 20 years. He retired 14 years ago.
In retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He crafted costume jewelry and collected Hess trucks.
Mr. Reed was dedicated to his Christian faith and a member of Manship Chapel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen Reed of Camden; two daughters, Cynthia A. Unsworth of Frederica and Brenda Lee Gladden of Camden; a son, Ronald L. Reed Jr. of Camden; two sons-in-law, Paul Unsworth of Frederica and Dan Gladden of Camden; five stepchildren, Nelson Ottenhausen of Dover, Richard Ottenhausen of Pearl City, Ill., Kelly Ottenhausen of Dover, Robert Ottenhausen of Freeport, Ill., and Lynn Diddens of Morgan Hill, Calif.; a stepson-in-law, Gordon Diddens of Morgan Hill, Calif.; a sister, Darlene Brown of Gainesville, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Mike Brown of Gainesville, Fla.; three grandsons, Sean Dobry, Lewis King and John C. Reed; 16 step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Services will be noon Monday in the funeral home.
Burial with full military honors will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 100 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends of the Delaware Veterans Home, c/o Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs, Robbins Building, 802 Silver Lake Blvd., Suite 100, Dover, DE 19904.
