Ronald Edgar Kauffman

MAGNOLIA - Ronald Edgar "Ed" Kauffman, 81, of Magnolia born July 7, 1934 in Washington Borough, Pa. passed peacefully at home on his birthday. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He also held many positions over the course of his life including truck driver for Flexsteel and for Schneider Transportation; manager of Mispillion Boatyard; police officer in Nebraska and captain of several charter fishing boats. In his retirement, he worked for NAPA Auto Parts. Ed was a man of many interests who loved fishing; earned his captain's license; built a fishing boat; earned his pilot's license and enjoyed flying; enjoyed woodworking-building furniture and model boats. Ed also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of ABATE. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruth Kauffman; his sister, Patricia Stover; and his brother, Richard Kauffman. Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy; six children, Ronald Kauffman of Milford, Robbin Sapp of Georgetown, Brett Kauffman of Georgetown, Rodney (Joyce) Kauffman of Salisbury, Md., Melanie (John) Callaway of Harrington and Julie (David) Harrington of Wilmington; one brother, Raymond (Tracy) Kauffman of Frenchville, Pa.; three sisters, Linda (Robert) Kennett of Lincoln, Deborah (John) Sage of Intercourse, Pa. and Cindy (Ronald) Kistler of Mt. Joy, Pa.; 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be 3 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720 or to Wounded Warriors, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
