ELLENDALE - Rodney M. Higham Jr. of Ellendale died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. He was 39.

Mr. Higham was born Jan. 31, 1968, in Wilmington.

He was a homebuilder and the owner of Design Tech Construction in Ellendale for five years.

Mr. Higham enjoyed working on cars and videotaping his granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather and best friend, Ronnie Vickers.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of four years, Marlene Turner Higham; his mother, Katherine Vickers of Milford; his father and stepmother, Rodney M. and Janice Higham of Sparta, Tenn.; three children, Tanya Kenton of Harrington, B.J. Welty of Milford and Jerrica Welty of Lincoln; a granddaughter, Adrianna LaFontaine; his maternal grandfather, Edward A. Myers of Wilmington; a brother, Michael Higham Sr. of Middletown; a nephew, Michael Higham Jr. of Middletown; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
