Robert 'Mitch' Mitchell Usilton
ROCK HALL, Md. - Robert Mitchell Usilton, of Rock Hall, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. He was 52. Mitch Usilton was born May 4, 1957, in Wilmington, the son of Robert Bruce Usilton and Mary Virginia Reed. Mr. Usilton was a 1976 graduate of Kent County High School. While in high school he worked at Tolchester Marina. After graduation he went to work for Dickerson's Painting and Floor Sanding and then eventually going into business for himself. In 1985 he married Penny Lee Usilton and started a family. Mr. Usilton enjoyed playing men's softball, fishing, golfing, pitching horseshoes, riding his Harley Davidson, drawing and watching sports. He was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Lynne Higgins; and grandparents, Herbert Ray Reed, Walter "Doc" Usilton and Dorothy Poole Usilton. He is survived by his wife, Penny Lee Usilton of Rock Hall; one daughter, Ivy Virginia Lee Usilton of Rock Hall; one son, Robert Nicholas Usilton of Rock Hall; his mother, Mary Virginia Reed and husband "Tater" of Worton; his father, Robert Bruce Usilton and wife Bonnie of Chestertown; two brothers, William Timothy Usilton and wife Tracey of Chestertown, and Michael Reed Usilton and wife Trish of Chestertown; one grandmother, Dorothy Virginia Reed of Worton; four nephews, Russ, Aaron, Shane and R.J.; four nieces, Samantha, Amanda, Samantha, and Shannon; one brother-in-law, James Reynolds and wife Dee; and two sisters-in-law, Sharon Stafford and husband Sonny, and Kim King and husband Mike. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Co. P.O. Box 577 Rock Hall, MD 21661.
