FREDERICA - Robert Lee Yoder, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, in Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 72. He was born in Harrington, the son of the late Harty and Bernice Yoder Foracker. He worked for the state of Delaware, Division of Parks and Recreation for 27 years, retiring in 1998. He was veteran of the National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 7 in Harrington, Harrington Moose Lodge 534, and an honorary member of the Bowers Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed racing go-carts and stock car racing, fishing on the Delaware Bay, and traveling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Savage Yoder, in 2005; and a grandson, Kenny Yoder. He is survived by three children, Donna Smith and her husband Gary, of Chincoteague, Va., Robbin Gardner and her husband Mike, of Bridgeville, and Robert Lee Yoder II, of Frederica; eight grandchildren, Michael Smith, Tawny Smith, Jennifer Moyer, Jackie Soriano, Robert C. Yoder, Shawn Space, Wendy Yoder and Michael Field; one great-grandchild, Allura Soriano; brothers, Curt Foracker, of Lincoln, Eddie Foracker, of Fla., and Glenn Smith of Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters, Phyllis H. Merrill, of Lincoln, Joan King, of Laurel, and Christine Wolfe, of Georgetown. A memorial service will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at North Bowers Volunteer Fire House, 3285 Main St., North Bowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Bowers Fire Company, 3285 Main St., N. Bowers Beach, DE 19946. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
