DOVER-Robert L. "Bob" Carpenter passed away suddenly on January 25, 2015. He was born in Wilmington on March 23, 1932 to the late Robert and Edith Carpenter. Bob was retired from local 74 of the Pipefitters Union. He served as past President of the Shrine Club of Delaware, Nur Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his sisters, Elsie Jackson, Elizabeth Adkins; and his first wife, Gertrude Carpenter. He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Joan Carpenter; sister, Sarah Snyder; step-daughters, Charlene Burr (Tony) and Denise Sawyer (Dan); step-grandchildren, Joshua and Jenn Burr; and his dearest friend, Buck Musser and family. A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10 am in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral Services will begin at 11 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Newark, DE 19713. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com
