Robert Frederick Jahn

HARRINGTON - Robert Frederick Jahn, 89 of Harrington, passed away on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was born on Jan. 28, 1922, in Bronx, N.Y., to the late Walter H. and Katherine Galn Jahn. He was a World War II veteran in the United States Coast Guard serving in the Asiatic Pacific rim. He was a plant manager for American Seal Kap Packaging in Queens, N.Y., where he retired in 1975. In 1976, Mr. Jahn moved to Harrington, coming from Oakland, N.J. Mr. Jahn was a member of the American Legion, #29 and the Caroline County Memorial V.F.W. Post #7937 where he served as both commander and district commander. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Schreiber Jahn; his son, Kenneth R. Jahn of Oak Ridge, N.J.; a granddaughter, Erika Jahn; and a grandson, Robert Jahn, both of Oak Ridge, N.J. He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Jahn. A visitation will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, Md., on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will be on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings on Hudson, N.Y.
