Robert Eugene Schultz, 90

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Robert Eugene Schultz of Heron Point, Chestertown died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. He was 90.

Mr. Schultz was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Poynette, Wis., son of the late Arthur Norman Robert and Nettie (Hastie) Schultz.

He was a graduate of Valparaiso Technical Institute and the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Schultz was administrative director of project research and grants with the University of Pennsylvania. In 1958, he assumed the position of business manager of the Princeton Pennsylvania Accelerator. He became head of construction and engineering in 1970. In 1980, he retired from Princeton University.

He moved to Heron Point from Lawrenceville, N.J., in 1998.

Mr. Schultz was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Schultz in 2002.

He is survived by a son, Terrence Schultz and his wife, Jane of Blue Bell, Pa.; a daughter, Patricia Panacek and her husband, Herman of Warwick; two sisters, Virginia Weeks and Caroline Larson; a brother-in-law, Richard Cook and his wife, Eileen; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Shannon, Kenneth Panacek, Steven Schultz and Susan Hessler; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandra Shannon and Grace Shannon. Mr. Schultz also had many friends in Heron Point including Marjorie Koch.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in St. Paul"s Cemetery, near Rock Hall.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Chester River Hospital Center, 100 Brown Street, Chestertown, MD 21620.
