Robert (Bob) E. Sebastian Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 7/13/2023.
Bob owned and worked at his family-owned Deli on Long Island, NY until 1990. He was a graduate of Seaford High School, NY Class of 1979. He was a Volunteer Firefighter and First Responder with Seaford Volunteer Fire Department, NY for many years and later served with Stack Road Volunteer Fire Department as a First Responder in North Carolina. Bob was a mail carrier for over 20 years with the Matthews Post Office in North Carolina. He was known for his laughter and bright light that he brought to the post office by all that knew him. During his time in Delaware Bob was able to volunteer with the local USO on Dover Air Force Base to try to give back to the military in his own way.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edward Sebastian Sr. and Marion Sebastian.
He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Sebastian (married 32 years), and their 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren; Angela Tart (Wilson Tart), Connor (17), Izzy (15), and Tessa (15); Andrea Cheyne (Mark Cheyne), Marissa (11); and Victoria Helms (Jordan Helms), Liam (1).
Family was everything to Bob. His love for his family was evident in everything that he did, his family was his world. He strived to make them laugh every day and let them each know that they were loved unconditionally. Bob had a love for family, community, and country. He was immensely proud of his 2 daughters that served in the military Angela Tart (Marine Corps) and Andrea Cheyne (United States Army), as well as his Son in Law still serving CPT Mark Cheyne (United States Army). Bob was also immensely proud of his son in laws for following in his footsteps and being the strong family men needed for their families. Bob cherished his 5 grandchildren and prayed that he was inspiration to them in life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Always and Forever.
Memorial Service Friday, July 21, 2023, 5 pm at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE. Friends may gather beginning at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that a donation is made in Bob's name to the Seaford Volunteer Firefighters Benevolent Association or the USO.
