Robert E. Fisher Sr.

ROCK HALL, Md. - Robert E. Fisher Sr. of Rock Hall died on Aug. 19, 2007, at his home. He was 82.

He was born in Chester, Pa., on April 12, 1925, the son of the late Norman and Ethel Biddle Fisher.

After high school, Mr. Fisher enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

He served his country in World War II in the Pacific Theatre as a medic, upon his honorable discharge from the Navy he was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps serving once again as a medic in the Korean War.

Mr. Fisher returned to his wife, the late Mary Anne Nucho Fisher, whom he married April 3, 1948, and they raised their family in Ridley Park, Pa.

He worked with Scott Paper, now Kimberly Clark, in Eddystone, Pa., from which he retired in 1987 and in 1988 he and his wife moved to Rock Hall.

In Ridley Park, Mr. Fisher was a volunteer with the Ridley Park and Chester fire departments.

Mr. Fisher loved camping and was a member of the Elkhart Travelers Association and the Woodchuck Chapter of the FCRV.

He was also a member of the Rock Hall Lions Club, Salem United Methodist Church in Fairlee.

He enjoyed crabbing, carpentry, and making toys and cookies for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Coleman and her husband, J. Robert; two sons, Robert Fisher Jr., all of Rock Hall, and Andrew Fisher of Ebensburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Kouri Miller, Jamie Coleman, Kelly Coleman, Bobby Fisher, Danny Fisher, Travis Fisher, and Renee Fisher; three great-grandchildren, Grant, Lauren, and Meredith Miller; along with one niece and three nephews, Mary Lou, Chris, David, and Kevin Mench.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.

Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Chester River Home Care and Hospice, 6602 Church Hill Road, Suite 300, Chestertown, MD 21620.

Shirley C. Jenkins, 67

SMYRNA - Shirley C. Jenkins of Smyrna passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, in Green Valley Pavilion Nursing Home. She was 67.

She is survived by her children, Donald L. Jenkins, Robert A. Jenkins and Keith Jenkins.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the House of Wright Mortuary, 208 E. 35th St., Wilmington, where friends may call two hours prior.

Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
