GALENA, Md. - Robert E. DeTurk of Galena, formerly of Secane, Pa., died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, in his home. He was 71.
Mr. DeTurk was born Sept. 4, 1935, in West Reading, Pa., son of the late Calvin E. and Mary (Houser) DeTurk.
He was a manufacturing engineer with Litton Industries and Fasco, and most recently worked as a machinist and model-maker for Mattel Toys in Mount Laurel, N.J., for 11 years until his retirement in 2004.
Mr. DeTurk was a member of Prospect Masonic Lodge 578, Prospect Park, Pa.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Darlene (Holt) DeTurk; a son, Scott DeTurk of Galena; a daughter and a son-in-law, Karen and Jim Lincke of Ridley Park, Pa.; a brother, David DeTurk of Maine; and two grandsons, James Lincke and William Lincke.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 10 Glebe Road, Earleville.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Chester River Home Care and Hospice, 6602 Church Hill Road, Chestertown, MD 21620; or to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
