HARTLY - Robert Donald Nye, of Hartly, formerly of Pontiac, Mich., passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford. He was 76. Robert was born in Royal Oak, Mich., the son of the late William and Edith (Hotham) Nye. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for ASI in Michigan for 34 years retiring in 1995. He is a Past member of the Fox Post VFW in Dover. He enjoyed wood carving, working on cars, politics, watching T.V., playing chess and telling stories to his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Dorothy Yate Nye in 1990 and by 8 siblings. He is survived by his children, Robert, Robin, Barbara, Sandra, Ken, Terry, Tom and Eric, his Brother, John; and sisters, Gladys, Doris, Mary Rose and Edith; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Services and burial will be at a later date in Michigan. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
