Robert was born in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Albert and Elsie (Pentz) Auckland. He spent most of his life in Grasonville and resided the past 37 years in Greenwood.
Robert worked in the HVAC industry for most of his life and for the past 15 years had worked with National HVAC as an installer. He was also a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.
Robert never met a stranger and would talk to anyone along the way. He was especially fond of his mother-in-law, Kathleen Bullock and the time they shared together. He loved NASCAR, classic car shows, traveling and driving Fords. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren; and adored his German Shephard, Sadie.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly (Morgan) Auckland; two daughters, Cindy Cecil, of Denton, Md. and Morgan Beauchamp and husband Michael, of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Albert Auckland, of Bel Air, Md. and Duane Auckland, of Buffalo, N.Y.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, Apr. 23, 2017 in the chapel of Berry- Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, with visitation after 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the SPCA, 22918 S. Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, Del 19947, an animal shelter of your choice, or Lincoln UM Church, PO Box 85, Lincoln, Del 19960.
