Robert A. Mason Jr.

HARRINGTON - Robert A. Mason, Jr. passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Milford Memorial Hospital. Bob was born in Holmdel, N.J.
He was a graduate of Keyport High School, Class of 1943. Bob was a vegetable farmer with his father in Hazlet, N.J. He and his wife Thelma sold the family farm in Hazlet around 1954 and relocated to Harrington, where he went into dairy and grain farming; and later on raising beef cows. He, his wife and daughter Bobbi enjoyed living and working on the family farm. Bob served as an officer of the Bright Haines Tax Ditch for over 20 years. Bob and his daughter had a special relationship and after his wife's passing, he was the sole caretaker of his daughter Bobbie up until her death exactly one year ago to the day that Bob died. He was preceded in death by his wife Martina Thelma (Larsen) Mason in 1994 and his daughter Roberta Van Mater Mason on July 26, 2017.
He is survived by Peggy and Larry Larsen as well as many close friends and caregivers.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington where a service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be private in Keyport, N.J.
