DOVER - Richard Lewis Boyce, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 61. Mr. Boyce was born June 5, 1949, in Wilmington, to the late Laval and Marie Moore Boyce. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Boyce enjoyed fishing, building, and singing and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first child, Aaron. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; two daughters, Shannon Richele Boyce and Jenyfer Leigh Casterline and her husband George, all of Clayton; three brothers, Ronnie, Dickie, and his identical twin Roger; a sister, Nancy; five grandchildren, Ryan, Josh, Steven, Sydney, and Gabriel; and his best friend, Willie. A viewing will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2011, in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Gracelawn Cemetery, Wilmington. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
