MARYDEL - Richard Joseph "Ritchie" Zitney, Sr. passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at home.
Ritchie was born on December 17, 1940 in Newark, New Jersey, son of the late Leslie and Elsie Zitney. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as a medic.
He had worked as a Quality control inspector for Camdel Metals retiring in 2006.
Ritchie was an avid Giants and New York Ranger fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and loved care of his yard and koi pond. He was known to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nan Zitney; three children, Richard J. Zitney, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Manassas, Va., Laura Coyle and her husband Paul of Rochester, N.H0 and Mari Hill and her husband Dennis of Camden; two grandchildren, Cory A. Hill and Matthew Hill both of Camden; a brother, Leslie W. Zitney and his wife Barbara of Toms River, N.J.; and a sister, Betty Kelly and her husband Jim of Perkasie, Pa.
Service will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the New Beginnings Church of God, 331 Mahan Corner Rd., Marydel, DE 19964
