Richard "Rick" James Sheppard, Sr. of Dover, Maryland, Washington DC and Detroit, Mich., passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 6, 2018 in his newly adopted home of Detroit, Mich.
Richard graduated from Delaware State and continued his education at Howard University graduate school. Richard was a business owner and entrepreneur throughout his life, specializing in high tech job placements. Due to the chronic illness of his former wife, Richard spent many years as a single dad and primary parent and enjoyed a close relationship with his children and his former in-laws.
Richard's mother (Violet Sheppard), father (Prince Fernell Brown), one sister and one brother preceded him in death. His brother Cornelius "Earl" passed away, separately, later on the same day as Richard, and his namesake son, Richard James Sheppard Jr., passed away a month after his passing.
Richard Sr. leaves behind, his grieving daughter, Acquanetta Christal Sheppard; a son-in-law, one sister, one brother, friends and family.
Do not be sad for him. Richard Sr. lived a fantastic adventurous life full of travel, adventure and fun.
