Richard J. Miller

SMRYNA - Richard J. Miller, of Smyrna, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Pinnacle Health Care in Smyrna. He was 85. Mr. Miller was born March 9, 1926, in La Grange County, Ind., to the late Orva Miller and Sarah Ellen Troyer Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Miller; two brothers, Samuel and Larry; and a sister, Romaine Hostetler. He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Miller; his daughter-in-law, Emma Simpler Miller of Middletown; three brothers, James Miller of Shipshewana, Ind., William Alfred Miller, also of Shipshewana, and Paul Miller of White Pigeon, Mich.; a sister, Marilyn Frain, also of Shipshewana; and three grandchildren, Aaron, Michael, and Beth; and a great-grandchild, Adelle. A viewing will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in East Oak Ridge Cemetery, Goshen, Ind. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Ewell's-St. Paul United Methodist Church, PO BOX 266, Clayton, DE 19938.
