Richard Horace Good

Richard Horace Good, 63 MILFORD - Richard Horace Good went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 17, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was 63. Richard was born in Felton, the son of Genevieve (Emerson) Good and the late Horace Lumas Good. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1968-1969. Richard was a well known carpenter who was always in demand for his work, craftsmanship and attention to detail. He loved working with wood, doing everything from carving to wood burning. His biggest project was his own home, which he built with tender loving care. He also enjoyed camping fishing, oystering and going to the seashore. Richard loved spending time with his wife and family at Cherrystone, especially taking in the beautiful sunsets. He also enjoyed bird watching, gardening and especially loved nature and watching all of Gods creations. Richard's pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He especially loved spending time with them and going on dates with his daughter Amy. Richard was an active member of the Lighthouse Christian Center, Milford. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marion; a daughter, Amy L. Plump of Milford; a son. Wayne Gilliss of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his mother, Genevieve Good of Dover; a brother, Stanley Good of Milford; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Gordon Pearson of Camden-Wyoming; six grandchildren, Rick E. Gilliss, Leiza H. Gilliss, Krysta J. Gilliss, Gaven G.B. Plump, N. Gabrielle Plump, and Garrett N. Plump; a nephew, David Pearson and his wife Michelle and a niece Linda Dawn Hammond and her husband Tim. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, April 22, at the Lighthouse Christian Center, 662 Milford-Harrington Highway, Milford where friends may call from 10 to 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either the Lighthouse Christian Center Building Fund, 662 Milford-Harrington Highway, Milford, DE 19963; or to Seasons Hospice, 300 Biddle Avenue, Suite 205, Newark, DE 19702. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
