Richard A. Zeller, 85
DOVER - Richard A. Zeller passed away, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at home.
Mr. Zeller was born April 27, 1938, in California, Pennsylvania to the late Steve Zeller and Lena Lorenzi Zeller.
He was an educator working for the Newark School District, becoming Christiana School District. Mr. Zeller taught night school but mostly he was an elementary school teacher, as well as teaching Groves Adult Education teacher. He enjoyed freshwater fishing, as well as traveling to Canada, Disney World, Finger Lakes in New York, and Yellowstone. Mr. Zeller also enjoyed camping, gardening, and watching the University of Delaware Football, Eagles and the Phillies.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Zeller.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan A. Owens Zeller of Dover; daughter, Denise Cayz and her husband James of Smyrna.
Funeral services will be held 3PM, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A Viewing will be held one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Habitat for Humanity.
