HARRINGTON - Rheal Joseph "Tom" Gregoire passed away Jan. 19, 2017 at Milford Hospice Center while surrounded by his beloved family. Tom was born in Embrum, Ontario, Canada to Emile and Gracia Gregoire on May 29, 1939. He was the middle son of 13 children. He grew up in a family of lumber jacks and made his way to the United States in the early 70's to pursue a career in harness racing. That career lead him to Harrington, where he eventually settled and raised his two sons. Tom worked for Richards Stables Inc and was known and loved by many of the harness racing family up and down the east coast. Tom is remembered for his kind, gentle soul and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Tom has touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Tom is survived by his two sons, R. Scott Gregoire, of Harrington and Rheal J. Gregoire, Jr., of Norfolk, Va.; as well as daughter-in-law, Sheena L. Eastridge, of Camden; brothers and sisters, Noella and Richard Ladeumesse, Regeamme Gregoire, Rosaire Belaronbe, Lise and Regean Fortier, Rose and Norman Tradersier, Marcell and Ambree Gregoire, Bernie and Micheline Gregoire, and Raymond Gregoire, all of Canada; granddaughters, Brooke L. Gregoire, of Felton, and Bridgette D. Myers, of Camden; and grandson, Spencer E. Myers, of Camden; his in-laws and second parents, Ray and Marjorie Richards, of Harrington; and his dog, Chingy; as well as many others who were blessed with his presence. A celebration of life will be held this Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at the Harrington Moose Lodge, Rt 13 Harrington, from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to off-set the cost of final expenses can be made to Cranston Funeral Home 300 N Shipley St, Seaford, DE 19973.
