Dover - Reverend Jean Kathryn Allen Wilson, was the seventh of eight siblings, born to the late Charles Henry and Mary E. E. Maull Allen, on October 6, 1934. She was married to Roger H. Wilson. She departed this life on Friday, March 6, 2015, after a lengthy illness. She completed her education at the William C. Jason High School, Georgetown, DE, as Valedictorian, May 1952; Delaware State (College) University, Dover, DE, as Salutatorian, receiving the Bachelor of Science Degree, May 1956; Friends International Christian University, Merced, CA and Affiliate Center Calvary Bible Institute, Dover, DE receiving the Associate and Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree, June 19, 1990 and Master of Biblical Studies, June 17, 2000. She retired as the College Registrar from Delaware State (College) University, Dover, DE on June 30, 1991, after 37 years of service. On June 30, 2008 she retired as church secretary, serving in this capacity over 20years. She officially joined Calvary Baptist Church, Dover, Delaware in 1976 under the pastorate of Robert Scott Jones, and was baptized Easter Sunday, April 1977. On December 31, 1996, she was licensed by Calvary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Apostle Richard M. Avant, as a minister to preach the gospel, and on July 9, 2000, she received the Certificate of Ordination as an Ordained Reverend. Her participation in organizations and activities included: Emeritus Member of National Association of Collegiate Deans, Registrars and Admissions Officers, served as member-at-large and secretary of this organization; past President of the Board of Education of Faith Elementary and Middle School; Charter Member of Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc; member of the Epsilon Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; lay speaker for 12 years before being licensed as a minister; founder and mentor of the Couples United for Christ, served as president for 10 years; past furniture coordinator for Calvary's Building Committee; former member of the Floral Guild; former member/president of the Voices of Calvary; chairlady of the By-laws Committee; member of the Women's Ministry Jacinth Jewel Group; member of the Pastoral and Ministerial Staff; Church Secretary and Funeral Coordinator; team leader with the Ministerial Nursing Home Ministry; former Church Activities Coordinator; former member and chaplain of the Hospitality Committee; past secretary, past president, past Chaplain and Secretary of the Pastor's Aide Committee, and Adult Sunday School Teacher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the following: sister, Dessie Marie Allen; brothers Billy Allen, Darl P. Allen, Holmes Ranford Allen, and Willard B. Allen, all of Lewes, DE; and step-son Albert Matthews of Laurel, DE. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 58 years, Roger H. Wilson; her two children, daughter Stephanie R. Jackson (husband Bobby), Fairburn, GA; son, R. Darrell P. Wilson (wife Katrina), Milford, DE; four grandchildren, Tarra Jackson and Tia Jackson-Truitt (husband Jabarr), Atlanta, Ga; Raydia Johnson-Wildy (husband Brian), and Darron Johnson-Wilson, Milford, DE; five great grandchildren, Roger D. Jackson, Saniya Lee Jackson-Truitt, Atlanta, GA, Ryana Johnson, Rayna Johnson, and Raelyn Wildy, Milford, DE; one sister Betty A. Washington, Lewes, DE; one brother Robert L. Allen (wife Lucy), Columbia, PA, sister-cousin Bertha A. Turner, Lewes, DE; a spiritual son and daughter, Reverend Drs. Norman E. and Cynthia Fields, Magnolia, DE; adopted daughter, Marilyn "Pearl" Larke (husband Jerome), Pennsauken, NJ, and foster son, Kevin Snell, Washington, DC; brother-in-law, Leon Wilson, San Diego, CA; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Allen, Millsboro, DE, Anita Holden, Laurel, DE, Katie Wilson, Springfield, MA; a number of extended sons and daughters, and brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
