DELMAR, Md. - The Rev. William Bruce Kirk of Delmar died unexpectedly Saturday, May 5, 2007, in Reading, Pa., of cardiac arrest while vacationing with his wife, Donna. He was 52.
The Rev. Kirk was pastor of Manokin Presbyterian Church in Princess Anne. From 1990-2005, he was pastor of Wicomico Presbyterian Church in Salisbury. In addition, he was active in the affairs of New Castle Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church-USA, which includes 55 churches in Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Born in Richmond, he was the son of William Semple Kirk and the late Mary (Howe) Kirk.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Wells) Kirk; his daughters, Emily Anna Kirk of Richmond and Molly Joyce Kirk of Salisbury; a son, William Benjamin Kirk of Salisbury, who is a college student in Pennsylvania; a sister, Katherine Anna Kirk of Richmond; a brother, Fleet Watson Kirk of Richmond; his father, William Semple Kirk of Richmond; and his stepmother, Carolyn "Vicky" Kirk of Richmond.
Private interment was in Hollywood Memorial Park in Richmond, followed by a memorial service at St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Richmond. A second memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Providence Presbyterian Church in Salisbury. The Rev. Dave Parke, pastor of Old Rehoboth Presbyterian Church in Westover, will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service at their home.
Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury.
