LAUREL - Rev. Roscoe Raymond West departed this life on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at his residence. Born in Laurel, he was the son of the late Raymond H. West and Daisey E. West. Rev. West was a member of Liberating Power A.M.E. Zion Church in Bridgeville where he served as a local deacon and trustee. He graduated from Harvest Bible Institute in Georgetown. He served in the United States Army. Prior to retiring, he was a metal processor at David Elliott, Inc. in Laurel. He will be lovingly remembered by: his wife, Mary E. West; one daughter, Virginia L. Snead (Eddie); two stepchildren, Alonzo Roberts (Tykesha) and Sharon Cannon (Jerome); one brother, Howard L. West, Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Irene Horsey and Lucy West; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty West, and one brother, Granville H. West. Rev. West will lie in repose on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Liberating Power A.M.E. Zion Church, 7366 Federalsburg Road, Bridgeville and Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at United Deliverance Bible Center, 532 W. 7th Street, Laurel. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Rev. Reginald Chandler is the host pastor and Rev. Dr. Wilford L. Oney will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park, Inc., West Road, Salisbury, Md. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. in Salisbury.
