MILLSBORO - On March 16, 2012, at 10:25 a.m., Rev. Carl Lee Jackson stepped up to claim his reward and we rejoiced for the victory of his release. Neither death nor cancer claimed any victory here - the "Big Chief" fought valiantly until last Friday, when he was promoted from the battlefield to Glory. Rev. Jackson, fourth child of Edna Clark Jackson and Emery Isaac Jackson, was survived by his loving wife of nearly 22 years, Beverly Ann Jackson; his natural daughters, Donna Maria Jackson Tucker, Shari-Yvette Jackson Small (John H. Small), and KoKita Valynnte Jackson (Michael Chambers); and daughters gained in marriage, Valorie Sherette Handy (Belarus Lee Handy) and Vicky Lovette Norwood (Monty Jackson). He is also survived by sisters, Minerva Street, Vera Constance Morris, and Joan Jacqueline Martin (Marvin Martin); and his brother, Isaac Evan Jackson. Brothers, Winfield and Emery Jackson, preceded him in death, as did sisters, Kathleen Wright, and Clarice Tomasso. He is remembered with love and joy by countless other relatives, friends and associates. The wake will be on Thursday, March 22, at St. John's 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, from 6 to 8 p.m. He will be funeralized on Friday, March 23, at 10 a.m. at St. John's 2nd Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.
