Ret. CW4 Edwin Cornelius Luhrman

Cornelius Luhrman, 85 DOVER - Ret. CW4 Edwin Cornelius Luhrman passed away peacefully in the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford on Oct. 9, 2016, after receiving long-term care from the Delaware Veterans Home. Edwin was born in New Jersey on Mar. 5, 1931 to Cornelia (Duik) and Edwin Cyril Cox. Edwin joined the service of the Merchant Marines at the age of 17 and traveled to many countries. In 1952, Edwin enlisted into the United States Army; he served in Vietnam and continued to travel the world. In 1983, he retired after 31 years as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. In 1993, he retired as a Deputy Director of logistics at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Edwin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth; their three children, Edwin Luhrman wife Lonna, Melinda Cox husband Kevin, Jill Hoffman husband Ben; four grandchildren, Hayden Luhrman, Savannah and Emersyn Cox and Jenna; and step-grandson, Shawn Priester wife Jessica. A private interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. Donations may be sent to Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd. Milford, DE. 19963.
