WILMINGTON - Rena L. Walker of Shipley Manor, Wilmington, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007, in Wilmington. She was 85.
Mrs. Walker was born in Downs Chapel to the late Lester and Addie (Graham) Smith.
She was a resident at Shipley Manor for six years and a life-long Wilmington resident, as was her husband, Harvey Walker, to whom she was married for 43 years.
Mrs. Walker worked as a telephone operator for the Sears Co. for 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, and her brother, Marvel Graham.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Donald Wright of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Michael Wright and his wife Danielle of Texas, and Michelle Zych and her husband Brian of Bear; and five great-grandchildren, Chris Zych, Kelsey Zych, Madeline Wright, Jackson Wright and Carson Wright.
A funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in McCrery Memorial Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville, where friends are invited to call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Mrs. Walker"s name to Red Lion Christian School, 1390 Red Lion Road, Bear, DE 19701, Attn: Finance Department.
