DOVER - Rebecca May Cooper Conner Brooks passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Westminster Village, Dover. She was at home in her apartment surrounded by her family.
Rebecca Brooks was born August 11, 1939, in Princeton, West Virginia to the late Burl Cooper and Muriel (Murl) Clark Cooper.
She was a homemaker but had worked for short time at JC Penny in sales, and at William Henry Middle School as an office clerk. Becky enjoyed, exercising, line dancing, walking, bike riding, camping, being outdoors, going to the beach with her family and absolutely enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family. One of her greatest joys was watching her children and grandchildren grow up. She had volunteered at Kent General Hospital (her favorite part was baking and giving cookies to patients), and was a member at Modern Maturity Center and the YMCA. Becky also enjoyed being with her friends, laughing, and helping others whenever she could. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Conner; sons, Michael, and Jeffrey Conner; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Clendaniel; sister, Margaret Thomason; and brother, Gary Cooper.
She is survived by her children, Steven Conner, and his wife Teresa of Chesterfield, Va. and Kimberly Conner Clendaniel and her husband John of Dover, Del.; brothers, Wayne Cooper, and his wife Judy of Abingdon, Va. and Jack Cooper and his wife Norma of Chesterfield, Va.; ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. For those unable to attend the funeral service there will be a livestream on www.torbertfuneral.com, it can be found under the "Upcoming Livestreams" tab and viewed by clicking on her name.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in her name to her granddaughter's (Kaitlyn Clendaniel) memorial scholarship fund at www.thechildrenstheatre.org.
