FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Reba W. Salmons of Federalsburg died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, in the Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was 80.
Mrs. Salmons was born Jan. 23, 1926, near Federalsburg, daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie (Scott) Waldis.
She was a 1943 graduate of Federalsburg High School.
She worked for 10 years as a beautician at the former O"Neals Beauty Shop, and also worked for the former Service Trucking and the former Long Lumber Co.
Mrs. Salmons was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 64.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Claude Howard Jr., on Nov. 15, 1961; two sisters, Virginia Nichols and Kathleen DeGran; and two brothers, Frank Waldis and Russell Waldis.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jack Salmons Sr.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Connie and William Blanchfield of Federalsburg, Patricia and Ray Glessner Jr. of Easton and Melinda Hagadorn and her friend, Dennis Payne, both of Federalsburg; three stepsons and three stepdaughters-in-law, Jack II and Bonnie Salmons of Federalsburg, Dr. Charles and Linda Salmons and Jimmy and Bea Salmons, all of Newbern, N.C.; five grandchildren, Mark Blanchfield, Cindi Link, Dean Glessner, Emilee Hagadorn and Mallory Hagadorn; five great-grandchildren, John C. Davis Jr., Johanna Davis, Jared Davis, Zachary Blanchfield and Cassidy Blanchfield; six siblings, Ruth Dodd of Seaford, Gertrude Lord, Louise Massey and Margaret Wheatley, all of Federalsburg, Elizabeth Orem of Hayword, Calif., and William Waldis of Cambridge, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, where friends may call two hours earlier. Dr. Charles Salmons and the Rev. David Heistand will officiate. An Eastern Star Service will be 10: 45 a.m.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg.
