Reba Rebecca Carr, 89

Reba Rebecca Carr of Laurel, daughter of the late Mary Stewart and William Carr, was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Laurel. She departed this life Feb. 1, 2007, in Seaford Genesis Elder Care. She was 89.

Reba was an extremely warm and caring individual who was loved by many.

As a devoted grandmother, she enjoyed giving of herself to others.

There are no words adequate enough to express how much Reba will be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only daughter, Daun E. Carr Truitt; two brothers, William Carr and Clarence Deshields; and two sisters, Jane Carr and Alfreda Crawford.

She leaves to mourn her memory, two grandsons, Alan Carr and his wife Jean of Jacksonville, N.C., and Anthony Carr of Laurel; nine great-grandchildren, Hopelynn Simmons and Devan Carr, both of Jacksonville, Katrina Jefferson of Greenwood, Anthony Carr Jr. and Kerry Carr, both of Laurel, Jennifer Carr and Tiffany Carr, both of Salisbury, Md., and Ryan Carr and Kellianne Carr, both of Jacksonville; eight great-great-grandchildren, Tyrone Simmons, Deja Simmons, Kayla Simmons, Elizabeth Carr and Nathan Carr, all of Jacksonville, and Cmyra Price, Phillip Price and Nazir Deshields, all of Laurel; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in New Zion United Methodist Church, Sixth Street, Laurel, where friends may call two hours prior.

Interment will be in the New Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Laurel.
