Reba E. Powell, 97

RISING SUN - Reba E. Powell, of Rising Sun, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Lloyd Killen's, home. She was 97. She was born on July 8, 1911, in Rising Sun, to the late Harry and Nellie Bancroft Williams. Mrs. Powell worked at Clarke and McDaniel's gift store for 17 years and later at the Jewel Box in Rodney Village. She enjoyed being a homemaker, was an excellent cook and loved the time spent with her family. She was the last serving member of the 1929 graduating class of Caesar Rodney High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Purnell Powell; her daughter, Donna P. Weingard; brothers, Russell and Francis Williams; and her grandson, Jeffery Weingard. She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Judy and Lloyd Killen of Camden; daughter, Eppie Haines of Felton; grandchildren, Terry Lynn Sack, Janice K. Boudreau, L. V. Killen III, Glenn Killen, Linda Carter, Russell Moore, Nancy Jo Hendricks; 13 great-grandchildren. Graveside Services and burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions be given to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
