Raymond N. Richards, 75

SMYRNA - Raymond N. Richards, of Smyrna, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 75. He was born in Camden, N.J., the son of the late David Richards and the late Mary Trout (formerly Richards). He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a forklift mechanic for Campbell's Soup, Camden, N.J., for 34 years, retiring in 1990. He moved to Delaware in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edith M. Richards; a son, Raymond L. Richards and his wife Deborah, of Woodbury, N.J.; a daughter, Lorraine M. Campbell and her husband Eugene C. Jr., of Smyrna; a sister, Grace E. Rieger, of Miami, Fla; and a brother, Robert G. Richards, of Cape Coral, Fla. Services will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Newark. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Ste. 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
