Harrington - Ralph Sena, Jr., of Harrington, formerly of Somerville, N.J., passed away on Monday, July 9 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Ralph was born in Somerville, N.J. to the late, Pauline and Ralph Sena, Sr.
Ralph graduated from Somerville High School, class of 1956. After high school, he served his country proudly, for four years, in the United States Air Force. Ralph worked as the area manager for Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J., following a 25 year career at Johns-Manville Corporation, Manville, N.J.
Ralph was one to never keep still. He enjoyed belonging to various organizations and keeping busy with all of them. He was Past Grand Knight for St. Bernadette Council, Knights of Columbus; he was Faithful Navigator for the Bishop Hubert J. Cartwright Assembly, and served as District Deputy for the Delaware State Knights of Columbus, where he was named 2017-2018 Knight of the Year.
He was a member of Kent County Master Gardeners and Coordinator for the Green Thumb Garden Club at Modern Maturity Center of Dover, where he was also a member; a member of the Harrington Senior Center, and a lifetime member of the Somerville Elks Lodge. Ralph was also a member of the Saint Bernadette Catholic Church of Harrington, where he volunteered as their maintenance man for many years, as well as a greeter and usher at Mass. In his younger days, when his sons were little, he served as a Cub Scout leader, Little League coach, and part of the Raritan Pop Warner Program. Ralph also enjoyed line dancing with his wife, and they were members of the Pure Country Dancers in New Jersey. Ralph was an avid golfer and up until his late 50's he also enjoyed playing softball.
Ralph was indeed a hard worker and gave of his time freely to help others and serve his community and church. He always had people laughing and never knew a stranger. His outgoing, upbeat, and loving personality will forever be missed.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony, Richard, and Lawrence Sena.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sena; sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph W. and Mia Sena, Todd A. and MariJo Sena; brother, James Sena and his fiancé, Nancy Krug; sisters-in-law, Trudy, Corinne, and Linda Sena; grandchildren, Noah, Leslee, Niles, Francesca, Joey, and Casey Sena; mother-in-law, Rita Phillips; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorraine and John Reynolds, and numerous nieces and nephews.
