
Queen Elizabeth Greene
Queen Elizabeth Greene, born on September 8th, 1948, departed this life on Sunday, July 17th, 2022. She was the 10th of 13 children born to Elizabeth and Ransom Greene in Swanquarter, North Carolina.
At an early age she joined the Piney Grove Disciple Church in Swanquarter, NC.
After graduating from O.A. Peay School in 1966, she relocated to Dover Delaware.
She started her work career at Lees Travel Wear, then moved on to Lou Mars, General Clothing Co., Harris Manufacturing Co., and I.L.C. Dover, where she retired after 23 years of service due to her illness.
Queen enjoyed her family and loved spending as much time as she could with them. She could always be counted on to make one of her favorite dishes, curry chicken, as she was an excellent cook.
Queen was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Ransom Greene; brothers, Ransom Jr., Henry Lee, Leon, Leroy, and Lee Thomas; one sister, Mary Lee Midgette; and one nephew, Kenneth R. Greene.
She leaves to mourn her passing sisters, Ollie Ricks of Chesapeake, VA, Evelyn Hopkins, Greenville, NC, Carrie Lucas, Dover, DE, Lucy and Carolyn Greene of Swanquarter, NC; one brother, William Greene, Dover, DE; one sister-in-law, Mary A. Greene; and one brother-in-law, Alton Midgette. She leaves 24 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
