Prela Savage Lynch

GEORGETOWN - Prela Savage Lynch went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Georgetown, daughter of the late Reuben and Lizzie Savage. Prela was employed by the DuPont Company during WWII. She manufactured parachute cloth out of nylon. After leaving DuPonts, she worked at Irene's Restaurant in Harrington, Del. She was also the business secretary for Ray's Paint and Body Shop and Ray's Wrecker Service. She was a long-time member of Grace U.M. Church, including a very devoted member of the Willing Strivers and the Choir. Mrs. Lynch was a member of the American Legion Unit # 8 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing the piano at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. Lynch in 2004 and brother, Arthur Savage, two sisters, Ethel Rogers and Pearl Lekites and a granddaughter, Jennifer Rae Hill. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Lynch Hill and husband Gary; two grandchildren, Jessica Ann Hill and Matthew Ray Hill; nephew, Gene Savage, niece, Paula Demmons and two great-nephews. Prela was blessed by having many friends, especially a dear friend, Mary Rogers of 66 years. She also had loving caregivers, Shelly Wise, Lisa Pugliese and Kelly Kruger. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace U.M. Church, 7 S. King Street, Georgetown, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown. Contributions may be made to: Grace U.M. Church, 7 S. King Street, Georgetown, Del. 19947 or American Legion Post # 8, Station 93, 406 N. Front St., Georgetown, Del. 19947. Arrangement handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown, Del.
