Philomena (Deldeo) Matarese, 90
FREDERICA - Philomena (Deldeo) Matarese of Frederica, Del., formerly of Smyrna, Del., passed away peacefully on December 26, 2020. Philomena was born in Hollyoak, Delaware to Giuseppe & Filomena Deldeo. She was predeceased by her four brothers and four sisters in addition to her two husbands Joseph DiCinque and Isadore J. Matarese.
In 1960 Philomena married Isadore J. Matarese and they were partners in the M & M Hunting Lodge in Smyrna and the M & M Hunting Preserve in Pennsville, N.J. Prior to that Philomena owned a furniture store in New Jersey.
Philomena raised three children, Lorraine Kalodi (George), Linda Parkowski (Mike), Anthony Matarese (Donna) in them she instilled a can-do attitude and an untiring work ethic.
She was also very influential in the lives of her grandchildren, Mark Humphreys, Lindsey Sanford, Anthony Matarese Jr., Michael Matarese and Amanda Matarese Prather. She never missed a game or opportunity to be positively involved in their lives. She also had nine great- grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank everyone at Dover Place for the kindness they showed Philomena.
Because of Covid the service will be privately held just for the immediate family. The services will be available to the public by watching the services on the Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Facebook page beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020.
