Penelope Rodney Layton Fox Henrickson, 95, died Aug. 5, 2018, at her home in Bentonville, Ark. She was born Feb. 21, 1921, the daughter of Landredth Lee Layton and Marianne Skelton Gibbs Layton of Dover. Penny was a graduate of the National Cathedral School for Girls in Washington, DC; Westminster Choir College in New Jersey; and the University of Delaware. She started and ran The Little School pre-school in Dover from 1955-1963. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, William R. Fox III; her second husband, Clarence Henrickson; a stepson, Jan Henrickson; and a daughter, Margaret Blair Fox. Penny is survived by her son, William R. Fox IV of Lincoln; five stepsons, two stepdaughters; and nine nieces. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at Christ Church, Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alliance Defending Freedom.
