Laurel - Peggy Cuffee Brinkley died Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of Dorothy M. Simmons Cuffee of Delmar and the late Henry L. Cuffee, Sr. Mrs. Brinkley was a member of Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown. She graduated with honors from Delaware State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mrs. Brinkley worked for Pepco Holdings, Inc. in Washington, D.C. as a Change and Operations Manager. In addition to her mother, she will be lovingly remembered by: her husband, Anthony O. Brinkley, Sr. of Laurel; one daughter, Kristin A. Brinkley of Wilmington; one son, Anthony O. Brinkley, Jr. (Angela) of Elizabethtown, Ky.; four sisters, Dorothy C. Bailey (William L.) of Salisbury, Karen A. Cuffee of Laurel, Vanessa R. Cuffee of Delmar, and Lisa L. Dennis (Anthony) of Millersville, Md.; one brother, Henry L. Cuffee, Jr. of Aberdeen, Md.; four aunts, Geneva Greene of Charleston, S.C., Blanche Deshields (Randolph) of Delmar, Cora Jones (Theodore) of Delmar, and Lucille Mitchell of Salisbury; one uncle, Santos Sanchez of Delmar; three grandchildren, Ammiel D. Brinkley, Anthony O. Brinkley III and Kaiya A. Brinkley; three godchildren, Tameko M. Henry of Townsend, Tyrae W. Cuffee of Salisbury and Brandon S. Dennis of Millersville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one brother, John Bruce Simmons. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 12 p.m. at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown. Pastor Rick Betts will officiate. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens, 27260 Ocean Gateway, Hebron, Md. A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. in Salisbury.
