DOVER - Pearl Marie Armstrong, of Dover, died Thurs., Nov. 11, 2010, at Kent General Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center. Mrs. Armstrong was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mabel (Clendaniel) Shepard. She worked for 35 years for Bell Atlantic, retiring in 1992 and then worked for Citi Corp for 5 years as a customer service representative. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and enjoyed walking and shopping. She also loved watching both NASCAR and her favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. Her favorite past-time was talking on the telephone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Thelma Burlingame in 1995. She is survived by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Wells, of Greensboro, Md; one niece; two nephews; one grand niece; grand nephews; a great grand niece; a great grand nephew; and her goddaughter, Marian Norwood, of Dover; and many special friends. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 17, 2010, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Another viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Thurs., Nov. 18, 2010, followed by services at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Slaughter Neck Cemetery, Argo's Corner, Milford, Del.
