MILLINGTON, Md. - Pearl M. Campaigne of Millington died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, in Chestertown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chestertown. She was 96.

Mrs. Campaigne was born April 18, 1910, in Chicago, daughter of the late James Daniel and Mary Rose (Maladek) Norton.

She graduated high school and attended business college.

She married Dr. Howard Herbert Campaigne, a mathematician. They resided in Garrett Park and Savage. They also lived in Slippery Rock, Pa., and Portales, N.M. In 1994, she moved to Millington.

She was a homemaker, artist and musician of the piano and violin. She also enjoyed the ballet and the opera.

Mrs. Campaigne was a past member of the Savage United Methodist Church and a 78-year member of chapter 454 Order of the Eastern Star American Cyrene of Chicago.

She is survived by a daughter, Dawn L. C. Miller of Millington; and two grandchildren, Ryan Roy Miller of Washington, D.C., and Raina Joy Miller of Green Castle, Pa.

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to one's local chapter of the Humane Society.
